We conduct a comprehensive dental examination during your first appointment at Soie Clinique Dentaire. You will first meet with a dental hygienist, who will perform a thorough data collection, including X-rays, photos and measurements. This will provide the dentist with all the information needed to carry out the most comprehensive examination possible.
The dentist will check your gums’·health, look at the joints and all the tissues inside your mouth, screen for oral cancer and verify the condition of each of your teeth.
The appointment will also allow us to assess your needs and determine the ideal cleaning and scaling frequency, based on your needs. You will then be able to book your next appointment accordingly.
Since scaling is a treatment, not unlike tooth restoration or a root canal treatment, the dentist must first perform a comprehensive examination to determine what type of scaling you need and the duration of the appointment. When you return for your preventive follow-ups, the examination and scaling will be combined.
Following the comprehensive dental examination, if required, you will meet with the treatment plan coordinator, who will explain the dental treatments you may need. During this meeting, which is free of charge, we will identify the priorities and set up a treatment plan.
The purpose of this comprehensive examination is to get to know your mouth and help you achieve optimal oral health.
